Family Liaison Advisor

My name is Jude Dowdeswell and I am the Family Liaison Advisor.

I have worked at Watling View School since 2011, initially working with Flow doing Horticulture with students and subsequently as a Teaching Assistant in the classroom. I have worked with many of the children and young people, supporting all age groups. I have been the Home/School Liaison Worker since 2020.

I welcome families to Watling View School starting with a home visit alongside the class teacher to deliver information and a New Family Pack. The purpose of my job is to:

Support, empower, enhance and improve the quality of life of the children, young people and their families at Watling View School
Work alongside staff, Parents, Carers and Young People to help identify early intervention with the involvement of specialist services and other agencies
Support the families and young people with Clear Transition information from Children Services to Adult Services and on to Further Education
Support the transition of children, young people and their families when entering and exiting school.

I am here to help families connect with the school to ensure their child or young person can get the best experience possible.
