Thursday 15 May 2025 Sports Morning On Thursday 15th May, we had our Sports Morning. All the students took part in a round robin of different activities with their classes, which included bubble and water balloon station, basketball, boccia skills, yoga and wheelbarrow races. They had a fabulous day, enjoying learning new skills and working as a team. It was lovely to see so many family and friends supporting the event.

Wednesday 14 May 2025 Golf Festival A group of our Upper School students went to a Golf Festival at Woburn Golf Club, where they were running a golfing event for young people with disabilities. They had an amazing day, getting coaching from 2 tournament players, and then putting their skills to the test in a range of golf activities. They did amazingly well at representing our school. We could not have been more proud!

Thursday 8 May 2025 VE Theme Day To mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War we held a special VE Theme Day. Pupils took part in a range of activities to learn about and experience a taste of that period in history, including; dancing to music from the 1940s, a black and white cinema, craft activities, an army obstacle course and making sandwiches for our ‘street party’ in the afternoon.

Thursday 1 May 2025 Electric Umbrella Electric Umbrella came to visit us for a Singing Workshop. The students had a magical afternoon singing and dancing along to the songs, as well as playing instruments and taking a lead with the microphone.

Thursday 3 April 2025 Easter Egg Hunt Pupils from all classes enjoyed an afternoon searching for Easter egg tokens on the playground, which they then exchanged for Easter eggs or bubbles!

Wednesday 2 April 2025 Spring Performance This year’s Spring Performance ‘The Magic of Books' celebrated our pupil's love of reading and enjoyment of stories.

Wednesday 26 March 2025 Easter Market Some of our students from Upper school worked on a stall at the St Albans Market selling items which they had made in their enterprise lessons, along with some yummy tray bakes and cupcakes which they baked in our Nourish to Flourish Café. The students got an opportunity to handle money and learn about selling items and also to practise their social skills by greeting customers. They made an amazing £284!

Thursday 13 March 2025 County Dance Show - Alban Arena On 13th March, we took part in the County Dance Show at the Alban Arena.

Wednesday 12 March 2025 Lower / Middle School Trip Pupils from Lower / Middle School enjoyed a fantastic day at Mead Open Farm. They had the chance to groom ponies, pet rabbits, explore the outdoor playground and soft play areas and especially enjoyed jumping on the inflatable pillows!

Wednesday 5 March 2025 Upper School Residential - Spring Last week, some of the students in Upper School went on a residential visit and stayed in the Sheringham Youth Hostel, Norfolk .

Friday 20 December 2024 Christmas carols The whole school enjoyed a trip to St Bartholomew's church where we sang Christmas carols and some pupils and staff even danced along to their favourite festive songs!

Thursday 19 December 2024 Christmas Show Watling View pupils put on a wonderful performance of it’s own Christmas Nativity. Yet again it truly was a highlight of the school calendar, well done to all of our talented pupils and supportive staff!

Thursday 5 December 2024 Dressing the Xmas Tree Lower Middle School kicked off the Christmas festivities by decorating the Christmas tree in the hall, using baubles and handmade decorations. They were accompanied by a fabulous brass band from St Columbus, and thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Christmas music.

Wednesday 4 December 2024 Bubble Experience- EYFS Early Years had a great time during their bubble experience. They particularly liked being inside the bubbles.

Friday 29 November 2024 Autism Accreditation Watling View School is having an Autism Accreditation from the 9th -11th December where we are going to be assessed by the National Autistic Society. Over this three day period our knowledge of autism will be observed through interviews, teaching practice, room layout, and interaction with students, senior leadership and many other areas. Parents and Carers will also be asked to complete a survey prior to the visit.

Friday 22 November 2024 Shakespeare for Schools On Monday 11th November, some of the pupils from Upper School went to The Grove Theatre in Dunstable to perform the Shakespeare play 'The Merchant of Venice'.

Thursday 14 November 2024 Remembrance Day Upper School and Lower Middle School held department assemblies acknowledging Remembrance Day. Each department made their own poppies, held a 2 minute silence and welcomed Jack, a student from St Columbus School, who played the bugle to recognise the event.

Friday 8 November 2024 STEM Theme Day Pupils had a fantastic STEM (science, maths engineering and technology) day! It was a brilliant day where pupils had lots of fun, learnt new concepts and created memorable learning experiences with their peers.
